The Figure:

The figure is designed as an infantry soldier of the Prussian Army from Second Schleswig War in 1864 between the German Confederation and Denmark. Prussian and Austrian army took part in the war against Denmark and occupied Schleswig, Holstein, and Saxe-Lauenburg.

Uniform:

The uniform during the war was very similar to the uniform of 1870-71 Franco-Prussian war, but the soldier’s field tunic is a slighly earlier version with a taller collar. The headgear is the famous forage cap ’Krätzchen’ while the personel weapon is a M-1862 Dreyse needle-gun.

Markings:

We painted the figure as a member of Infanterie-Regiment von Stülpnagel (5. Brandenburgisches) Nr. 48. The collar and shoulder badges are red with yellow numbers.
