The Figure:

The figure represents the uniform pieces of a common Army/K.U. Honvéd infantryman from the early 1900’s the Belle Époque. Before the Great War the uniforms were elegant and bright in compare to the uniforms of 1918. This figure has the distinctive trousers with Vitéz knot (the so called Hungarian Trousers) which were used in the Hungarian recruited K.U.K regiments and K.U. Honvéd regiments. He wore the light blue M1878 cap, and the field jacket is the last which was issued in dark blue. (M1906)

Rifle and equipment:

Our figure is armed with a Mannlicher M1888 with it’s ammo pouches and bayonet. On his left shoulder a marksman’s lanyard is visible. Each and every regiment had a different facing colour which is displayed on the collar. We painted our figure as a member of K.U.K Infantry regiment Nr. 32. Maria Theresa (Budapest) with sky blue facing colour and gold buttons. Optional belt buckle included for K.U.K common regiments (with the imperial eagle) and K.U. Honvéd regiments (with the Royal Hungarian coat of arms). Also the cap badge is optional with ’FJI’ monogram for common army regiments and ’IFJ’ monogram for Honvéd.

Optional uniform colour:

The figure can be painted in pike grey uniform as well, as M1906 field jacket was in production in pike grey after 1908. For more information see our painting guide below.
