The Eagle of Trieste:

Gottfried Freiherr von Banfield was the most successful pilot of Kriegsmarine and the only pilot recipient of the highest Austro-Hungarian medal the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Maria Theresa. He scored 9 confirmed and many more unconfirmed victories flying only floatplanes. Died in 1986 in his beloved city of Trieste as the last surviving Knight of the Order of Maria Theresa.

The Figure:

Our figure represents Linienschiffsleutnant von Banfield in his dark blue naval uniform wearing the most of his orders as decorations. He was often photographed with a cane due to an injury from the past.
